What is Posture Analysis?

A posture analysis is the first step to improving posture and strengthening your muscles. It is a process of analyzing your balance, alignment, asymmetries and motion. Based on my findings, the analysis may include assessing your spine, way of walking, standing, muscle strength and functional movement. Poor posture can be caused by a variety of reason. The most common reasons can be poor habit of working and exercise. For example, a person's posture can be kyphotic meaning the shoulders are brought forward giving the hunched effect, or lordotic meaning the stomach area is pushing forward making the buttock area stick out. Sometimes, I have also seen that the person has a flat back posture, meaning there is no natural curve in the back. In many cases, these poor postures can often result in muscle tightness, joint stiffness and an increase in pain. The good news is that our unique sport massage therapy can often benefit posture. Because I understand that poor posture occurs very often in a lot of different people, and there are many different ways in which posture can be poor and many different reasons why it occurs. Depending on the examination, I design and choose different massage technique to help increase rang of movement, reduce stiffness and increase mobility of our clients.
